Thank you for visiting my online campaign headquarters. Included in this site is some information about me, as well as some thoughts on key issues facing the 13th District of Texas and our nation.
There is a lot of frustration with Washington these days. I feel the same way. Polls indicate that public confidence in government is at one of the lowest points in nearly 50 years. In fact, nearly 8 in 10 Americans say they do not trust the federal government and have little faith it can solve America's problems.
It is not surprising, really. President Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress have pushed an agenda that focuses on growing the government, opting for the Washington-know-best-approach to the challenges before us.
So now, as we consider major issues like health care and the national debt, we also have a chance to discuss this fundamental question: what is the proper role of government in our nation and in our individual lives? I have outlined some of my views of government below and welcome your feedback on them.
The decisions we make now will not only affect us but will also shape the nation that our children and grandchildren inherit. We must work to make the right choices.
